Information 
Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time.  
Photo Identification Required e.g.: driving licence.  
Full PPE: E.g. - Hard hat, safety boots, Hi-vis, gloves etc. 
 
COVID-19 Guidelines 
Our test centre has a Risk Assessment in place covering the guidelines for COVID-19 which will be outlined to all candidates before any testing will commence.  Could all candidates please bring with them face masks and latex gloves for the tests.  We do provide these but would prefer if the candidates would bring their own and dispose of them on completion. 
 
Welfare Facilities 
Hot drinks are freely available.   
The test centre at Wigsley is in a rural location with no local amenities.  
 
CPCS Test Overview 
CPCS tests comprise of a theory & practical test. 
Revision is recommended.

Information 
Trained Operator (Red) card 
The requirements for this card are: 
Carry out any training necessary to bring you up to the standard required to enable you to pass the CPCS Technical Test 
Pass the relevant CITB Health, safety and environment test 
Achieve the CPCS Theory Test (within two years of the CITB Health, safety and environment test) 
Achieve the CPCS Practical Test (within six months of the CPCS Theory Test and within two years of the CITB Health, safety and environment test). 
On achievement of the CPCS Practical Test, we will request the CPCS Trained Operator (Red) card on your behalf. 
 
Moving from a Trained Operator (Red) card to a Competent Operator (Blue) card 
The requirements to obtain this card are that you: 
Hold a valid CPCS Trained Operator card on the category that must be within the 12 month grace period 
Pass the relevant CITB Health, safety and environment test 
Achieve a SVQ or NVQ, with the appropriate units relevant to the category 
 
Working directly towards a Competent Operator (Blue) card 
The requirements to obtain this card are to: 
Provide proof of achievement of the SVQ or NVQ for the relevant units to the category being applied for 
Pass the relevant CITB Health, safety and environment test 
Achieve the CPCS Theory Test (within two years of the CITB Health, safety and environment test) 
Achieve the CPCS Practical Test (within six months of the CPCS Theory Test and within two years of the CITB Health, safety and environment test) 
 
Entry Requirements 
The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English.
